eyelids were slowly bouncing up and down
up and down
heads were bobbing to the beat of their hearts falling asleep
The train shook our souls awake
The dreams we lived when we were children
became real once again
We came face to face with our reality
I put my hand up to my reflection
I tried my hardest, I tried my darnest to make this
become unreal
The person who I never wanted to become,
was looking at me, dead in the eye
I didn't have the decency to blink
I didn't have the decency to sigh
I couldn't think
But I managed to crack a smile
How did I manage to forget the days
when my imagination was what ruled my senses
When I could spend hours playing in the dirt, dreaming of things that didn't exist
When did I forget that everything that I could ever want, lays in the realm of my thoughts
I could conjure up any reality I wish
I could sail to the stars on a train made out of clouds
pick my teeth with golden floss
and run through a field of daises, with my pants off
No worries, no doubt in what I was doing
Tell me that I'm wrong, this could never exist in the context of our lives
I'll shrug your opinion off,
and go on and about with my life.
I'll run through the streets handing out sandwhiches,
with nothing but pieces of paper, placed between the two slices.
"This can be anything you wish it to be. Eat your dreams, like Thanksgiving is an eternity away."
My eyelids fell to the ground
and fell through the floor
Everything I was, I now am not
Everything I ever wanted to be,now I am
