We all have a first love don't we? Don't we need to experience the feeling of being completely lost within someone else, before we are able to find ourselves? In this day and age love is composed of hopeful romantics going on speed dates and singles baseball games-turned into casual sex on a Thursday afternoon. Why do we deny the fact that love can and does exist when given the chance to thrive. We expect to grasp its romantic ideology, but we never wait for it to grow into a deeper feeling, one rooted in our soul, enthroned by nothing less but ideal truths. We stare at the moon. The moon is completely encompassed by a thin layer of clouds, and it glows an antique gold. There is this beauty that exists that we are not aware of. a beauty that watches us every night. something so majestic this phenomenal world cant grasp it. Yet we don't hinder ourselves to search for love. We even reach for the stars. But we cant even comprehend the beauty that is the moon, and we cant even think about ourselves and what we want when it comes to love. we act surprised when someone breaks our hearts, but do we ever think twice when we break someone else's. We go as we come and come as we go yet we never really think about where were going and we tend to forget where we're coming from. We find excuses to love. Love is supposed to be luminous, an everlasting streetlight while we drift through life on open highways. Isn't true love supposed to guide us? Is love to be spoken of, or even thought of? So few have felt it, and even less knew enough to learn to cherish it. And when we sit alone on our beds, as the shadows from our blinds remind us we're never alone, we forget that six billion people roam this earth. We turn from hopeful to hopeless. We fail at realizing the open truth. We're too blind to see love can and does exist only when we want it.
